GOC’s 15th Annual CPD Meeting
It is with great pleasure that we invite you on behalf of the Executive of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada and the CPD Program Planning Committee to attend the 15th Annual Continuing Professional Development meeting in Toronto, Ontario on May 1, 2015 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. We have an outstanding array of Canadian and international speakers who will be presenting on a variety of exciting topics including Neoadjuvant chemo for fertility sparing treatment; Myths/misconceptions in gynecologic pathology; Immunotherapy for gynecologic cancer; Robotics vs. Laparoscopy debate; Hereditary syndromes and gynecologic cancer; PARP inhibitors; Gyne cancer trials update (OV23); Update on management of vulvar melanoma, and Personalized oncology.

Program Objectives
- To evaluate the role of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for fertility sparing treatment of gynecologic cancers;
- To summarize the myths/misconceptions in gynecologic pathology;
- To describe the role of Personalized oncology/Targeted therapy in the management of gynecologic cancer;
- To examine the role of immunotherapy in the management of gynecologic cancer;
- To discuss the pros and cons of Robotics vs Laparoscopy in the surgical management of endometrial, cervical and ovarian cancers;
- To report the status of clinical trials development in ovarian cancer in Canada (OV23);
- To summarize PARP Inhibitors (how they function, what have the studies shown);
- To summarize new advances in the management of vulvar/vaginal melanoma; and
- To discuss the implications of genetic predisposition to gynecologic cancer (BRCA, Lynch).
- To acquire knowledge on interventions for sexual dysfunction after treatment for gynaecologic cancers.
The Nursing Professional Practice Committee of the GOC has organized a Nursing Breakfast Symposium that will be held in conjunction with the GOC CPD meeting on Saturday May 2, 2015. The topic for the symposium will be “Sexual Health and Intimacy after Gynaecologic Cancer”. The registration fee is included in the CPD registration fee for those who attend the CPD meeting. Nurses who wish to attend the Nursing Breakfast Symposium who have not attended CPD may register on the CPD registration site for the Nursing Symposium Only for a cost of $65. We hope to see you there and encourage you to inform your nursing colleagues about the symposium.

Cancellation and Refund policy: Fees to attend the CPD meeting will be refunded if a written notice of cancellation is received no later than April 22nd, 2015. An administration fee of $50 will apply. Refunds will not be granted after this date.
